Authentic Chinese Hot Pot in Flushing, NY
Located at 133-36 37th Ave, Flushing, NY 11354, Shoo Loong Kan operates as a hot pot serving Flushing in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

We came in around mid afternoon, so there was no wait at this time. Their condiments selection is massive. The black rice porridge was very tasty, highly recommend it. The spicy soup base was really spicy so I recommend starting with mild level. Iris was very attentive during our time here, the service was top notch!

Enjoyed this spot. The hot pot was good and there were a lot of options to choose from. Everything came out fresh and the broth had really nice flavor without being too heavy. The portions were solid and it was easy to share a few different things around the table. I liked that they give you aprons so you donβt have to worry about getting your clothes messy, which was actually really thoughtful and useful during the meal. Itβs a small detail but it definitely made the experience better and more comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. They checked in on us throughout the meal and were quick to help whenever we needed something. Service felt attentive without being over the top, which I appreciated. The restaurant itself had a cozy atmosphere and felt clean and organized. I would say itβs better for a smaller group or dinner with a few people since the space feels a little tight for big groups. If you come with too many people it might feel crowded, but for a casual meal with friends or family it works really well. Overall, I had a good experience here and would come back again when Iβm craving hot pot.

Thereβs a lot to love about this place, though the price-to-value ratio is worth mentioning upfront. While the overall experience is enjoyable for the reasons described below, it does feel somewhat expensive for what is offered. That said, setting the price aside for a moment, this is a very nice place with a great atmosphere and plenty to appreciate. The photos really capture how warm and inviting the space feels. The traditional decor, glowing lanterns, dark wood, and classic hotpot setup create an authentic ambiance that makes the whole experience feel special. The food was fresh, plentiful, and beautifully presented. There was also an impressive variety, from noodles, greens, tofu, and mushrooms to meatballs, sliced beef, fried items, and a very nice split broth setup. Everything tasted fantastic, and the menu felt a little creative while still delivering the comfort and fun you want from hotpot. What stands out most is the quality of the food and the range of options available. That, together with the beautiful setting, is what makes this place memorable. Service was okay. It was not bad by any measure, just not especially outstanding.
